9 Ways to Maximize last 10 days of Ramadan

“With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet (PBUH) used to tighten His waist belt (i.e. work harder) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.” (Bukhari)
Ramadan is the month of blessings, and in these last days we should try to maximize our ibada’as and good deeds even more, because just like Ramadan, these go super fast.
SO here are 9 ways in which lets try to maximize our efforts to bring in more good deeds, inshaAllah!
1. Dua’as and Dua’as:
Make a list of dua’as ask them from Allah from the core of your heart. Allah loves Dua’as, specially at the time of Tajajjud.
Make this special Dua abundantly: Allahumma iinaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni (Oh Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.
2. Make i’tikaaf if you can:
It’s a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Masjids are preferred for it, and women can do it in the comfort of their homes as well. The idea is basically to devote yourself fully to Allah in the last Ashra of Ramadan.
3. Try to find Laylat-ul-Qadr:
In Quran, Allah says: “By the manifest Book (the Quran) that makes thing clear. We sent it (this Quran) down on a Blessed Night (i.e. the Night of Qadr)….” (44:2-4) Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is described in the Quran as, “better than a thousand months” (97:3)
Did you see the gravity of the blessings in this one night?!?? May Allah give us all taufiq to get Laylat-ul-Qadr.
4. Spend the nights in Qiyam, do nawafil and extra azkaar:
Tarawih prayers, Nawafils, Zikr of Allah throughout the night is the most preferred act of ibadah. Try to spend less time in wordly affairs like shopping. That’s exactly why we need to prepare for Ramadan way ahead.
5. Recite Quran and understand it:
Reading the Quran definitely will earn you more rewards, but the purpose of the Quran is to be understood and applied in our daily lives. Unfortunately, my mother tongue is not arabic, so translation definitely is a must to understand what the book of Allah is saying in order to connect with HIM. This is the time to build that connection.
6. Plead for forgiveness:
Become a beggar in front of Allah, yes, A BEGGAR. Because if He will not forgive us, no one can help us out on the day of judgement.
7. Make a to-do checklist for the nights
Give yourself targets and tasks to be done for every night. Like complete one para, read its translation, etc Try to stick with it.
8.Be extra generous for the sake of Allah
Give Zakat if you haven’t already. Make sadqah. If you can’t afford to then give people water, or something else as Sadqah.
9. Spend most of the chaand raat in prayers and zikr:
Unfortunately, in our society, chaad raats HAVE to be spent in the malls doing mehndis and all. Do you know that Chaand raat is one of the most rewarding nights? Pray to Allah.
Get your mehndi done a day or two before chaad raat, you will have equal amount of fun, inshaAllah.
