Graco jetsetter for me is the best stroller in 2018 for travelling, or for parents on the go. I used this personally for my then 14 months old baby in December 2017, on our vacations to Bahamas and can totally vouch for it.
If you have seen the video which went totally viral on the internet about the GB Pockit stroller for travelling, that is ultra light and compact, well, the Graco one is very similar to that one, only better.
When we were about to travel, I had 4 options for the stroller:
- Graco Jetsetter (which I obviously chose)
- Baby Jogger City Tour Stroller
- GB Pockit stroller
- Inexpensive cheap one that folds umbrella style
So why I went for the the Graco jetsetter, ultra compact stroller?
Its compact feature:
When folded, it is ultra compact. It can fit most of the airplanes overhead compartments so you can carry it on the plane with you and not be scared about it breaking by the airline/airport crew.
Its fold, the easiness:
It’s a one hand fold system, which is just so easy to use and fold. In seconds you can pull up the stroller and then fold it. I now use it for my everyday use while going for grocery, etc. Plus, its compatible with any Graco car seat, so it can be used from an infant stage up to 50 lbs of child. (Had I known earlier, I would have gotten Graco car seat instead of chicco’s car seat and car seat caddy).
Its light weight:
It weighs only 14 lbs, a bit heavier than the GB Pockit stroller, and the baby Jogger, but way too lighter than the other strollers available. Hence its easier to carry. Trust me, when you are traveling with a kids, you gotta take so much stuff that weight matters.
The Canopy:
The canopy of both, the Baby Jogger and Graco Jetsetter was big. The GB Pockit’s canopy was a joke, an excuse for a canopy. Most of the umbrella (inexpensive) strollers don’t have a big canopy too. Canopy is essential as it helps protect from sunlight and sometimes rain too.
It’s under the stroller storage:
This is a big one for us. Although it didn’t carry my JuJube diaper bag but it helped us a lot in carrying toys, food items, towels, etc. on the vacation. And now it carries my groceries, or books, etc. The GB Pockitt had no under storage.
It reclines:
When a baby falls asleep, you need to lie him down. And this feature was just super important for me as because of my baby’s hyper active nature, I NEED to do run my errands when he is asleep.
The calf rest:
The calf rest in Graco Jetsetter, unlike other strollers in my list was adjustable. It can be folded (which is perfect for children sitting down) and it can become straight so that when the baby sleeps, you lay him/her straight (including the legs).
There were some drawbacks which were very apparent while making the purchase as the lack of the tray (for baby food, etc.), parents console (to keep keys, phone, etc.), and lock that holds (locks the wheels in) the folded position despite the stroller being moved (Baby jogger had it, but at the time of purchase we didn’t think about the importance of it).
An annoying thing about this is the belt. You have to loop in the shoulder straps in the waist one to lock it completely. You have to get a hang of it, and sometimes when you are in a hurry, it gets frustrating. Baby Jogger has a similar kind.
With all the advantages of Graco Jetsetter, it was not a hard choice to make. Happy travelling Mamas!
